IVASHKIN NAMED FPHL ROOKIE OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY

Syracuse, NY – The Federal Prospect Hockey League announced today that Binghamton Black Bears forward Nikita Ivashkin has been named the Rookie of the Month for January.

Ivashkin played in all 10 games during the month and had 12 goals with 12 assists for 24 points. During the month he went from 2nd in the league to leading the league in scoring with 63 points. Ivashkin continues to lead the league with 4 shorthanded goals. In the ten games played in January he had 8 multi-point games. He has had two games where he has recorded 4 points in a game. His first 4-point game of the month was on January 7 against the Port Huron Prowlers, one goal and 3 assists. The other 4-point game for Ivashkin was January 21 against the Delaware Thunder, 2 goals and 2 assists.

The 22- year-old is from Ramenskoye, Russia and is off to a great start in his professional career this season with the Black Bears. Ivashkin played the 2019-20 season with the Carolina Jr Hurricanes (USPHL-Premier). Ivashkin was an eight-time champion of the Moscow region.
