Director Of Officiating Paul Jene stated, "Our staff has dealt with a lot of adversity this season. Injury, illness, long travel and just getting back into full operation which everyone stepped up for the league and did a great overall job this season. There were quite of number of officials that we would have liked to have given the nod to work finals this season. But in the end, this is a business and decisions need to be made for the league.” Jene further stated, “Officiating is a thankless job. And due to many years of abuse, our sport among others now suffers from a shortage of officials. But we are dedicated to making the game better and our staff continues to work hard to change the culture of the FPHL and our great sport.”

The FPHL is proud to showcase its officiating staff and quite a number of the officials in the FPHL have come from higher levels of hockey. Some of this season’s selected officials for the Commissioners Cup Finals have worked higher levels such as the American Hockey League (AHL) & East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) in both current and past seasons.
