PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES APPEAL RESULTS FOR GAME 154

From The FPHL Department of Player Safety

Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today has announced the following findings from the Appeal by the Binghamton Black Bears from FPHL Game 154 played Saturday, January 20th in Binghamton, NY.  The Black Bears appealed the 3 game suspension of their Head Coach Brant Sherwood and the 7 game suspension of Binghamton forward Bryce Ferrell.

Binghamton Black Bears Ferrell, SUSPENSION UPHELD
Based on his actions and review of additional video, the suspension to the player Bryce Ferrell will be upheld as per FPHL rulebook and disciplinary action outlined in the Director of player safeties previous released suspension report. He will be eligible to return on Friday February 23rd.

Binghamton Black Bears Sherwood, SUSPENSION RESCINDED - FINED $500
The 3 game suspension to Binghamton Black Bears Head Coach Brant Sherwood has been rescinded. He will be reinstated effective immediately back to his team. However, under the updated FPHL disciplinary directive, Mr. Sherwood has been assessed a fine of $500 for his player leaving the bench to become involved in an altercation.

Danbury Hat Tricks McCreary, SUSPENSION RESCINDED - FINED $500
Subsequently Due to this appeal, Danbury Hatricks Head Coach Bill McCreary has also been reinstated and has had his suspension of 3 games rescinded as well. He also will be reinstated effective immediately back to his team.  Under the updated FPHL disciplinary directive, Mr. McCreary has also been assessed a fine of $500 for his players leaving the bench to become involved in an alteration. 

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
