Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.

Binghamton Black Bears Sherwood, FINED
Binghamton Head Coach Brant Sherwood has been Fined an undisclosed amount as a result from his unsportsmanlike actions following the completion of FPHL Game No. 284 in Elmira, NY on Wednesday, April 3rd.

Binghamton Black Bears Walters, SUSPENDED
Binghamton defenseman Jacob Walters has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 284 in Elmira, NY on Wednesday, April 3rd.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated,
“Mr. Walters took it upon himself to grab and open the penalty box door and in doing so, slammed it into the off-ice official, hitting him in the head. These attendants are vital and integral to the functioning of our league.  When confronted by the referees, he made derogatory comments about the off-ice official in question. This can't be tolerated, complaints need to go through league channels and at the bare minimum, reported to the referee, in-game if an adjustment is needed. Mr. Walters is suspended for ONE (1) GAME."

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
