PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FOR 11/25/23

From The FPHL Department of Player Safety

Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.

Motor City Rockers Conway, SUSPENDED
Motor City Forword Declan Conway has been suspended for One game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 63 in Elmira, NY on Saturday, November 25th.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, “This was a completely unacceptable play. Mr. Conway's team was leading 7-1 at this point and the puck was 30' away from the opponent he was initiating contact with. He was also totally unsuspecting to be hit. This was the antithesis of a tough, hockey play. This type of action is not something that is, or ever will be acceptable in a game that should demand some level of respect for your opponent. It's fortunate that he was not seriously injured and was able to continue.  Since this hit was also more of an attempt to interfere with an unsuspecting opponent, as so it is also being reclassified as a 5 min major and Game Misconduct for Interference. Mr. Conway will be suspended for ONE (1) GAME."

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
