PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FOR 1/4/25

Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.

Athens Rock Lobsters Portillo,  SUSPENDED
Athens forward Justin Portillo has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 172 in Athens, GA on Saturday, January 5th.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated,  
" Mr. Portillo tried to deliver a big hit with only a handful of seconds left in the game. He got the worst of the hit and decided to invite his opponent to fight.  His opponent did not want to fight so Mr. Portillo instigated a fight with only seconds left in the game. He received a game misconduct for instigating in the last five  minutes of the game. He will be suspended for ONE (1) GAME."

Athens Rock Lobsters Head Coach Martinson, FINED
Athens Head Coach Steve Martinson has been Fined an undisclosed amount as a result from his unsportsmanlike actions towards the officials during FPHL Game No. 172 in Athens, GA on Saturday, January 5th. 


The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 15th season during 2024-25.
