PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FOR 11/27/24
From The FPHL Department of Player Safety
Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.
Port Huron Prowlers Chartrand, SUSPENDED
Port Huron forward Dan Chartrand has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 85 in Port Huron, MI on Wednesday, November 27th. FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, "Mr. Chartrand was being escorted away from the altercation by the linesman. He needed to listen to and obey the linesman's commands but instead, he decided to try and break away from the linesman in an attempt to get at his opponent. The linesman did a tremendous job of not losing his man and ended up going down to the ice hard, landing on his back. This is not acceptable. I realize that Mr. Chartrand was in no way, attempting to injure the official but this is a prime example of why we assess Game Misconducts for "Attempting to continue an altercation" It's very fortunate that the official wasn't more seriously injured. Mr. Chartrand is suspended for ONE (1) GAME."
Motor City Rockers Holt, SUSPENDED
Motor City forward George Holt has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 85 in Port Huron, MI on Wednesday, November 27th. FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, "This altercation really should have had a quick resolution. Instead, the MCR players escalated the situation to the point where the goaltender got involved. MCR #42 George Holt left his bench and jumped a player from PH, landing on top of him. This is a clear violation of Rule 70.3 "Leaving the players bench for the purpose of joining an altercation already in progress" Mr. Holt receives an automatic SIX (6) GAME SUSPENSION."
The Motor City Rockers coaches have also been FINED an Undisclosed amount for one of their players leaving the bench to enter an altercation.
The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 15th season during 2024-25.
