PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FOR 12/6/24
From The FPHL Department of Player Safety
Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.
Port Huron Prowlers Styles, SUSPENDED
Port Huron Forward Kenneth Styles has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 105 in Binghamton, NY on Friday, December 6th. FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, "I do not view this as a match penalty for slew-footing because the player being fouled was aware of the contact and was, in fact, engaged in an upper-body strength battle with Mr. Styles. Having said that, I still see the leg movement and view this as a dangerous and reckless trip. I am downgrading this to a Game Misconduct for tripping and suspending Mr. Styles for ONE (1) GAME."
Binghamton Black Bears Stubbs, SUSPENDED
Binghamton Forward CJ Stubbs has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 105 in Binghamton, NY on Friday, December 6th. FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, "Mr. Stubbs got beat on the backcheck and reached out to contain his opponent and ended up hitting him in the groin with the tip of his stick. This falls under our automatic one game suspension for a 'cup-check."
Carolina Thunderbirds Simonchyk, SUSPENDED
Carolina defenseman Andrey Simonchyk has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 106 in Winston-Salem, NC on Friday, December 6th. FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, "This is not a case of a legit hockey hit gone bad. Mr. Simonchyk could see nothing but his opponent's number and knew he was in a vulnerable position/distance from the boards. Instead of wrapping or minimizing contact, he forcefully shoves his opponent head-first into the boards. Fortunately a serious injury did not occur. Mr. Simonchyk is suspended for ONE (1) GAME"
The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 15th season during 2024-25.
