PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FOR 3/10/24

From The FPHL Department of Player Safety

Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.

Baton Rouge Zydeco Thompson FINED & SUSPENDED
Baton Rouge Head Coach Everett Thompson has been suspended for One Game & Fined an undisclosed amount as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 239 in Winston-Salem, NC on Sunday, March 10th.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated,
“Following a penalty assessment that Mr. Thompson disagreed with, he resorted to loudly calling the officials derogatory names that crossed the line and became personal attacks. He then compounded his barrage by making a lewd gesture. We need to strive to be better and to keep the focus on hockey related content. Mr. Thompson will be suspended for ONE (1) GAME and fined for his actions."

Port Huron Prowlers Chartrand, SUSPENDED
Port Huron forward Dan Chartrand has been suspended for Two Games as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 242 in Port Huron, MI on Sunday, March 10th.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated,
“This was another non-hockey related play. Mr. Chartrand took it upon himself to deliver a butt-end to his opponent who was on his player's bench and made solid contact. This is a very dangerous and sneaky play. It was fortunate that no serious injury occurred. He chose to commit this infraction mere feet from the linesman who witnessed the entire sequence. Mr. Chartrand will be suspended for TWO (2) GAMES."

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
