Ed lockwood MEMORIAL AWARD

Awarded Annually to the OFF-Ice Official who exhibits the best type of sportsmanship and conduct

Ed Lockwood (born February 24th, 1961) passed away at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer. He dedicated 45 years of service to Nuvance Health in the Information Technology Department. A devoted supporter of hockey in Danbury, Ed began attending games during the era of the Danbury Whalers and rarely missed a home game thereafter.

His dedication to the local hockey community extended far beyond the stands. Ed served as Booster Club President for the Whalers, the Danbury Titans, and the Danbury Hat Tricks, a role he held until the year before his passing. Through his unwavering support, kindness, and commitment to the teams and their fans, Ed left a lasting impact on the Danbury hockey community.

This award honors his memory by recognizing an off-ice official who demonstrates the same spirit of service, loyalty, and dedication that Ed embodied every day.
