CAVALIERE NAMED FPHL GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER

Binghamton, NY – The Federal Prospect Hockey League announced today that Carolina Thunderbirds goaltender Mario Cavaliere has been named the Goaltender of the Month for December.


Cavaliere had a record of 7-2-0-0 with 21 goals against for a 2.33 GAA and 290 saves for a .932 SV% in 9 games, along with one shutout for the month. His best game was the shutout on December 22nd against the Blue Ridge Bobcats where he stopped all 38 shots against him. Mario is still leading the league with 12 wins, a 2.20 GAA and an SV% of .932. He is one of six goaltenders that have a shutout this season.


The 26-year-old is from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He attended Brock University from 2018-20. During the 2021-22 season he played in Sweden for Ange IK. Mario is in his second season with the Carolina Thunderbirds.
