CAVALIERE NAMED FPHL GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY

Binghamton, NY – The Federal Prospect Hockey League announced today that Carolina Thunderbirds goaltender Mario Cavaliere has been selected the Goaltender of the Month for February.



Cavaliere appeared in 6 games and was a perfect 6-0-0-0, allowing 14 goals for a 2.22 GAA and making 146 saves for a .913 SV% for the month. He had 2 games where he allowed only 1 goal. On February 8th against the Port Huron Prowlers was the first game in the month allowing a single goal while making 26 saves. The other game allowing a lone goal was against the Dashers of Danville on February 22nd making 25 saves.


The 27-year-old is from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Mario continues to lead the FPHL in Goals Against Average (2.01), Save Percentage (.925) and has 6 shutouts. He attended Brock University from 2018-20. Mario played in Sweden with Ange IK for the 2021-22 season. He has been a member of the Carolina Thunderbirds since 2022. He was named the FPHL Goalie of the Year for 2023-24 season.

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 15th season during 2024-25.
