Dashers Win Home Opener in OT

Danville, IL - The Danville Dashers opened the season with a bang, with a 3-2 overtime win over the Elmira Enforcers. Ryan Marker led the way with 3 points (2G and 1A), including the game winner with 2:46 left in OT. 

Marko Novosel got things going for the Enforcers, scoring their first goal in team history at 12:29 of the first, assisted by Kyle Stevens. Starting goalie Troy Passingham was solid in net as well, stopping 41 of 44 shots. Ryan Marker led things off in the 1st with his first goal of the season, shorthanded at 9:12 of the frame. Danville was 1 of 8 on the power play and 5 for 5 on the penalty kill. 

Alex Basey got the team going in the second with a great bout against Darren Lamble to get the crowd back into the game. Aaron Taylor was 44 of 46 tonight making difficult saves through traffic and making them look easy. 

Marvin Powell came up big in the third, notching the game tying goal with 5:50 on the power play, assisted by Marker and Atwell. 

The Dashers and Enforcers are back at it again tomorrow night with puck drop at 7:05 PM. The game will be broadcast live at TFMSports.com and 107.1 WPGU FM.
