Enforcers Acquire Porter from Wolves

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Enforcers took another step in building a championship caliber team by adding an additional quality netminder to the roster in a trade with the Watertown Wolves in which they acquired Cody Porter for the rights to Chase Tippin and backup goaltender Blake Scott.

Porter played junior hockey for 5 years, compiling a solid 54-43-7 record. He began his professional career this season with the Watertown Wolves, going 7-4-0 with a 3.93 goals against in 11 games.

Porter quickly chimed in that he was excited to work with Troy Passingham, “Pass is a good goalie. We both played major junior and were big goalies with a similar style. It should be a good compliment to each other and I think we will help this team." When asked about coming to Elmira, he commented, "I’m very excited for the opportunity to join a team going in the right direction and it sounds like a great fan base. My time in Watertown was great; I enjoyed it there, but we play them a lot. It will be fun. I need to just focus on working hard, playing hard, being a leader, and things will work out.”

Coach Clarke was quick to talk about his thought on the trade: “It was important for us to put the right pieces in the puzzle before the postseason comes. We have a lot of games coming up in the next eight weeks and we need to give ourselves the best chance we can to win, and Cody Porter does that for us.”

The Enforcers' next game is on Friday February 15th at 7:05 PM at First Arena against the Watertown Wolves. Tickets are still available by calling (607) 734-7825 or going to Tickets.com.
