Enforcers Enlist Two Time Champion Troy Passingham

Elmira, NY - The halls of First Arena are buzzing again as the Elmira Enforcers continue to build their roster, adding a second netminder to the team in Troy Passingham.

Passingham brings along with him a knowledge of not only how to win, but two championship seasons. In addition to titles, Troy brings along a strong game and some very impressive numbers in his brief time in the FHL. Passingham played only eight games with the Danville Dashers in 2015-16, but held a 2.30 Goals Against Average and a .935 save percentage.

When asked about what made him interested in coming to Elmira, Passingham was quick to respond: “I was in a bit of a limbo area and I had a lot of calls from [Head Coach] Brent [Clarke] last year when I happened to be in Macon (of the SPHL). We ended up with five guys from Brent’s team, who told me really great things, and so this year we’ve got the chance to work together.”

While playing junior hockey, Passingham captured a Memorial Cup with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), alongside NHL stars Taylor Hall, Adam Henrique, Cam Fowler, Ryan Ellis, Philipp Grubauer. “I was extremely lucky to have the chance to play for the best OHL team ever and win a Memorial Cup in Windsor.” Troy said. He played five years at Ryerson University before beginning his professional career in 2016, and winning the President's Cup with the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) in 2017. During his junior and professional career, Passingham also earned two call ups to the ECHL.

“Troy will be a top goalie in our league. He is a proven winner.” Coach Brent Clarke said about Passingham. “He has won everywhere he’s been. He had a Memorial Cup in Windsor and an SPHL Championship in Macon in 2017. It gives the players a great deal of confidence knowing your goaltending is solid and that you have a guy back there who can steal you games.”

The Elmira Enforcers kickoff their first season on the road on Friday, October 16th when they take on the Danville Dashers.
