FPHL Provides Context on Team Trademark Filings
BINGHAMTON, NY – The Federal Prospects Hockey League is providing clarification
following recent online discussion regarding pending trademark filings associated with the Monroe Moccasins and Topeka Scarecrows.
The league would not ordinarily comment publicly on pending trademark filings. Public trademark records reflect individual filings and procedural actions, but they do not necessarily show the full context or the arrangements governing how the applications and related rights will be handled.
In both cases, the appropriate arrangements are in place, and the involved parties are completing the legal and administrative steps necessary to ensure that the intellectual property associated with each team is properly assigned to its operating entity. The league has remained engaged in support of its member teams and the protection of their brands and related rights.
These filings have not changed the ownership, identity or operation of either team.
“This is a great example of the cooperation that takes place quietly behind the scenes throughout our league,” said Ken Andrews, a member of the FPHL Operating Committee. “We compete hard on the ice, but off the ice we work together to protect our teams, strengthen the league and build a stable future for the FPHL – the fastest-growing and only national Single-A professional hockey league.”
The FPHL remains committed to open communication and will continue providing timely context when needed to clarify league operations.
With preparations for the 2026-27 season accelerating, the league’s attention is firmly on the ice. A 17- team, coast-to-coast field, a new conference and divisional structure, and fresh rivalries throughout the league are setting the stage for what promises to be the most exciting and competitive season in FPHL history.
