FPHL Suspensions & Statement Regarding Carolina Bench Incident
Syracuse, NY
The office of the Federal Prospects Hockey League is releasing this statement regarding the incident that occurred between the Carolina and Watertown benches on Saturday, February 5th between the Carolina Thunderbirds and Watertown Wolves at the Winston-Salem Fairground Annex Arena in Winston-Salem, NC.
The FPHL League Staff prioritizes the safety of all fans in attendance, league officials, players, & team personnel. We strive to operate in a safe and professional manner. Both the Carolina Thunderbirds and Watertown Wolves have cooperated with FPHL League Staff in regards to this incident and below are the findings of the incident.
Any and all further inquiries or issues to the suspensions below with be referred to the FPHL Board of Governors.

The following suspensions were a result of coaches and players actions from FPHL game #112, Watertown at Carolina on Saturday February 5th.
Carolina
Coach Garrett Rutledge - 15 Games
Joe Cangelosi - 9 Games
Tommy Cardinal - 4 Games
Blake Peavey - 1 Game - Served on 2/6/22
Ross Bartlett - 1 Game - Served on 2/6/22
Watertown
Head Coach Brent Clark - 1 Game
Brennan Ash - 4 Games
Luke Cohen - 2 Games
Ryan Devine - 1 Game - Served on 2/6/22

Watertown Wolves Head Coach Brent Clark
Brent Clark has been assessed a 1 game suspension for throwing equipment at the Carolina bench.
Watertown Wolves Ryan Devine
Ryan Devine has been assessed a 1 game suspension for Inappropriate gestures towards spectators from the penalty box.
Watertown Wolves Luke Cohen
Luke Cohen has been assessed a 2 game suspension for an Aggressor and starting a secondary altercation in front of the Carolina bench.
Watertown Wolves Brennan Ash
Brennan Ash has been assessed a 1 game suspension for throwing equipment at the Carolina bench along with an additional 3 game suspension for throwing a water bottle that ended up striking a young spectator in the head for a total of 4 games.
Carolina Thunderbirds Blake Peavy & Ross Bartlett
Blake Peavy & Ross Bartlett have each been assessed a 1 game suspension for throwing equipment at the Watertown bench.
Carolina Thunderbirds Tommy Cardinal
Tommy Cardinal has been assessed a 4 game suspension for Attempt to Injure a Watertown non playing personnel.
Carolina Thunderbirds Joe Cangelosi
Joe Cangelosi has been assessed a been assessed a 1 game suspension for throwing equipment at the Watertown bench and an additional 8 games for causing Deliberate Injury to a Watertown non playing personnel.
Carolina Thunderbirds Head Coach Garrett Rutledge
Garrett Rutledge has been assessed a 1 game suspension for throwing equipment at the Watertown bench, 4 games for attempt to injure a Watertown non playing personnel, and 10 games for causing Deliberate Serious Injury to a Watertown non playing personnel for a total of 15 games.
