Grebennikov Returns to Thunderbirds

Winston-Salem, NC - The Carolina Thunderbirds are happy to announce the return of Viktor Grebennikov to the active roster, starting with Friday night's game against the Mentor Ice Breakers.

Grebennikov has registered 5 points (2G-3A) in 10 games so far this year with the Thunderbirds, but had to leave the team earlier this month due to a family issue. Head Coach Andre Niec commented on Grebennikov's return: "We're very excited for Viktor to be back. It's great to be a professional athlete, but we always have to remember that family is most important. I'm happy he is sorted out and ready to be back in the lineup."

The Carolina Thunderbirds play a three-game weekend series with the Mentor Ice Breakers starting tonight at the Fairgrounds Annex. Tickets are still available at the box office or online at TicketMaster. Puck drop is at 7:35 PM and the Honda of Winston-Salem Pregame Show starts at 7:10 PM on the Thunderbirds Radio Network.

The Carolina Thunderbirds are proud members of the Federal Hockey League, now in its ninth season. The Thunderbirds are in their second season of play, looking to build on the success of their inaugural season where the team posted an 87-point season with a record of 25-24-5-2 (W-L-OTW-OTL). The Thunderbirds also set an FHL record with over 65,000 fans through the doors in their first season and six sellout crowds. Season and group tickets are on sale now by calling (336) 774-GOAL(4625).
