Watertown, NY - The Watertown Wolves fell to the Mentor Ice Breakers by a score if 6-3 at Watertown Municipal Arena on Friday night.

Each team scored two goals in the first period. For Watertown, both goals came Yianni Liarakos. His first was short-handed vial Dallas Ingram and Kyle Powell during Jordan Bailey's holding penalty. His second was on the power play, assisted by Powell and Tyler Gjurich during Thomas Devesvre's elbowing penalty. Mentor's first goal of the game came on a power play for Justin Portillo's hooking penalty. Vaughn Clouston shot the puck into netminder Jared Rutledge and it bounced over his skate to make the goal. The second for the Ice Breakers came at the 17:21 mark when Joe Swenson scored on a play from Tim Perks and Steven Fowler.

Mentor doubled up on Watertown in the second with two goals courtesy of Matthew Kadolph. His first came just over 90 seconds into the period, and his second came on a power play from Deric Boudreau's tripping infraction.

It looked like the Wolves might have gotten their groove back when Tim Santopaolo went top shelf with a laser from the point on a pass from Aleh Shypitsyn at just 55 seconds into the third period. However, the Ice Breakers had other plans with Tommy Mahoney scoring at 3:28 and Matthew Kadolph getting a hat trick goal at 9:29.

Kadolph's hat trick earned him the 1st Star of the Game. Joe Swenson got the 2nd Star for his goal and assist. Watertown's Yianni Liarakos was given the 3rd Star for his two goals.

The Wolves will finish their three-game series with the Ice Breakers in Ohio on Saturday and Sunday. The defending Commissioner's Cup champions hit the road the following weekend to take on the Port Huron Prowlers. Watertown fans will be able to see the Wolves back in action at the Municipal Arena on Friday, March 15th to start a three-game series with the Elmira Enforcers at 7:30 PM.
