Ice Breakers Sign Fowler

Mentor, OH - The Mentor Ice Breakers are pleased to announce the signing of forward Steven Fowler to a standard player contract. Fowler will join the club prior to this weekend's road games against the Watertown Wolves and Elmira Enforcers.

At just 21 years of age, Fowler will be the youngest player on the Ice Breakers roster. The Oxford, MI native is a left-handed shooter and stands at 5'11" and weighs in at 174 lbs. He appeared in seven games this season in Sweden's Division II, scoring five goals and dishing out three assists. In 2017-18, Fowler scored 49 points (30-19-49) in 48 games for the Chatham Maroons in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL).

Additionally, defenseman Connor McNary and forward Matt Kadolph have been signed to standard player contracts, after both players joined the Ice Breakers on player tryout contracts. McNary, 23, has yet to register a point in eight games but has provided solid defensive play and adds valuable size to the Ice Breakers roster with a 6'1", 190 lb frame. Kadolph has been an offensive contributor with a pair of goals in five appearances and has accumulated 33 penalty minutes.
