Ice Breakers Sign Koresky

Mentor, OH - The Mentor Ice Breakers are happy to announce that defenseman Ryan Koresky has been signed to a standard player contract after being claimed on waivers from the Carolina Thunderbirds. He is the second former Thunderbird to join the Ice Breakers this week after Mentor traded for forward Tommy Mahoney in exchange for future considerations.

Koresky, 37, played 4 years of college hockey at SUNY-Oswego, scoring 47 points (7-40-47) over 102 games. The Midhurst, ON native has a 5'10", 185 lb frame and will add another experienced presence as well as defensive depth to the Ice Breakers locker room.

In a corresponding move, defenseman Joseph Keenan has been placed on waivers. The Ice Breakers have also waived goaltender Rick Odria after he appeared in two games with the club last weekend against the Port Huron Prowlers. Odria earned his first FHL victory on Saturday night in the Ice Breakers' 11-7 victory over the Prowlers at Mentor Civic Ice Arena.

The Mentor Ice Breakers are in their inaugural season and proud members of the Federal Hockey League. Single game and ticket packages are available 24/7 online at mentoricebreakers.com/tickets. They can also be purchased at the box office prior to the game or by calling (440) 290-850.
