ICECATS ALEXANDER LEGKOV NAMED FPHL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

The Federal Prospects Hockey League has officially announced its selection for the 2025–26 Rookie of the Year award, presented annually to the most outstanding player in their first full season of competition.

The league proudly congratulates Alexander Legkov of the Pee Dee IceCats as this season’s recipient.


The 22-year-old forward from Muskva, Russia, had a remarkable debut season. He began the year with the Danbury Hat Tricks, recording 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points in 28 games. Following his move to the IceCats, Legkov elevated his performance even further, adding 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points in just 30 games.

He finished the regular season with an impressive total of 38 goals and 53 assists for 91 points, solidifying his place as the league’s top rookie.


Now in its 16th season (2025–26), the FPHL continues to showcase emerging talent across Single-A minor professional hockey, and Legkov’s standout year marks one of the most impressive rookie campaigns in recent league history.
