From The FPHL Department of Player Safety

Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.

Danbury Hat Tricks McCreary, FINED
Danbury Head Coach Bill McCreary has been Fined an undisclosed amount as a result from his unsportsmanlike actions during FPHL Game No. 251 in Elmira, NY on Saturday, March 16th.

Motor City Rockers Vanderwiel, SUSPENDED
Motor City forward Danny Vanderwiel has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No.  248 in Fraser, MI on Saturday, March 16th.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated,
“This was not a hockey play gone bad. This cross check was a direct result of Mr. Vanderwiel being knocked down seconds earlier and then getting up and looking for retribution. He cross checked his opponent who was already down and engaged with another player. This was done to punish and was not an attempt to separate his opponent from the puck. Mr. Vanderwiel is suspended for ONE (1) GAME."

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
