PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS & FINES FOR 1/3/24

From The FPHL Department of Player Safety

Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.

Mississippi Sea Wolves Pace Sr., SUSPENDED & FINED
Mississippi Assistant Coach Joe Pace Sr. has been suspended for Six Games and Fined an undisclosed amount as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 122 in Biloxi, MS on Wednesday, January 3rd.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, “This display is unacceptable. FPHL officials should never, ever have to worry about being hit, shoved or manhandled. In this instance, Mr. Pace Sr. forcefully shoved an unaware linesman in the back for no apparent reason. That is something that should never happen. He continued his tirade by leaving the bench, entered the ice surface and attempted to go at the opposing bench. He was intercepted by a linesman who then had to forcefully wrestle with a man in street shoes, all the while realizing that it was the owner of the team. This is something that crosses the line for any player but is next level when its a coach/owner. Instead of retreating to the locker-room as requested, he verbally berated an official with language that is profoundly unacceptable.  Mr. Pace Sr. will be suspended for SIX (6) Games and fined.

Mississippi Sea Wolves Pinkowski, SUSPENDED
Mississippi forward Richard Pinkowski has been suspended for One Game under Supplementary Discipline as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 122 in Biloxi, MS on Wednesday, January 3rd.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, “Mr. Pinkowski jumped a player who was unwilling to engage. He attempted to punish this player by repeatedly trying to slam his head to the ice. Once separated, he went after a second player and punched him a couple of times. Based on the limited video available and the Officials written report, this qualifies as an AGGRESSOR and Mr. Pinkowski will be suspended for ONE (1) GAME under Supplementary Discipline."

Port Huron Prowlers Scantlebury, SUSPENDED
Port Huron forward Tucker Scantlebury has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 122 in Biloxi, MS on Wednesday, January 3rd.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, "Mr. Scantlebury entered the penalty box and immediately after being verbally taunted by two fans on the other side of the glass, attempted to spear them with his stick. It is never acceptable to physically engage with spectators and Mr. Scantlebury will be suspended for ONE (1) GAME. I would also like to emphasize that it is incumbent upon the home team to ensure that arena security intervene and remove or relocate any fans that attempt to physically antagonize any visiting players. This is pro hockey."

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
