PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FOR 2/4/24

From The FPHL Department of Player Safety

Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.

Motor City Rockers Babin, SUSPENDED
Motor City Goaltender Trevor Babin has been suspended for One Game as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 179 in Watertown, NY on Sunday, February 4th.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated,
“I can certainly see how the officials reacted and called a match penalty in real-time, especially with the appearance of an injury. Having the benefit of replay and slow motion from multiple angles allows me to see that this was not an attempt to injure but more of a reckless swing of the stick deserving a major penalty and a game misconduct. Fortunately there was no injury since the contact occurred on the gloves/chest and the player was back playing 90 seconds later. Mr. Babin will be suspended for ONE (1) GAME."

Blue Ridge Bobcats Dolkart, SUSPENDED
Blue Ridge defenseman Egor Dolkart has been suspended for Two Games as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 178 in Wytheville, VA on Sunday, February 4th.  FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated,
"Although there is no conclusive video evidence of this action, I am going to reference the on-ice official's written and verbal report. After calling a minor penalty on Blue Ridge, Mr Dolkart had words with the referee and then intentionally spit towards him, striking his skate. Spitting at or on an official is never acceptable and demonstrates a complete lack of respect. Mr. Dolkart will be suspended for TWO (2) GAMES."

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
