PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES SUSPENSIONS FOR 3/28/24
From The FPHL Department of Player Safety
Binghamton, NY – The FPHL Department of Player Safety today have announced the following suspensions.
Mississippi Sea Wolves Stoia, SUSPENDED
Mississippi forward Matt Stoia has been suspended for Two Games as a result from his actions during FPHL Game No. 258 in Biloxi, MS on Thursday, March 28th. FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson stated, “Mr. Stoia decides to grab a smaller player who has zero interest in fighting and unilaterally starts punching him. This is the definition of being an aggressor. Once the linesman was able to separate him, he made an attempt to grab other players and punch them. It is incumbent upon players to respect the linesman's authority and once separated, go directly to the penalty box or exit door. Skating around trying to break players sticks and punch random players is unacceptable. Mr. Stoia is suspended for TWO (2) GAMES."
The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 14th season during 2023-24.
