PLAYER SAFETY ANNOUNCES WEEK 14 SUSPENSIONS REPORT
The FPHL Department of Player Safety has announced the following suspensions from FPHL Week 14.
Suspension Explanations with FPHL Director of Player Safety Dave Jackson can be viewed on this weeks episode of the FPHL’s Beyond the Glass Podcast.
1/9/26
Baton Rouge Zydeco - Matthew Bazarin SUSPENDED
Mr. Bazarin repeatedly yelled multiple derogatory language multiple times from his player's bench to the opposing bench. Mr. Bazarin is suspended for TWO (2) GAMES per the FPHL Executive Board Slur and Lewd Gesture policy. A repeat offense will incur a four game suspension and a third will elicit a one-year ban
Athens Rock Lobsters - Kyle Pow SUSPENDED
Mr. Pow was skating back to the other end of the ice after an icing call. For some unknown reason, he went after an opponent and instigated a fight. This fight did not happen organically as a result of a cheap shot or questionable hit. This was premeditated by Mr. Pow who decided to go after his opponent in a 7-3 hockey game with just over 2:00 min remaining in the game. This rule was put into the rulebook to cover this exact type of situation. Mr. Pow is suspended for ONE (1) GAME

Monroe Moccasins - Tucker Scantlebury SUSPENDED
I support the referees ejecting Mr. Scantlebury but I do not agree with a match penalty. A sucker-punch is a very specific infraction. It is delivered to an unsuspecting opponent and is designed to inflict punishment or injury. Mr. Scantlebury was engaged, face to face with his opponent. Although unwilling, his opponent was certainly not unsuspecting and the punch delivered was not designed to injure his opponent. This play could easily have been a roughing minor and a 10 min misconduct. As the altercation progressed Mr. Scantlebury threw more punches at a player in a vulnerable position while the linesmen were attempting to restore order. Mr. Scantlebury receives ONE (1) GAME for Continuing an Altercation and because it's his second offense (Oct 11, 25) he is considered a repeat offender and will be suspended for TWO (2) GAMES
Note: Game 192 Aggressor penalty to Binghamton Black Bears Dan Weiber. Mr. Weiber was deemed to be the aggressor of an altercation with Mr. Schnapp of Twin City. I believe that it was actually Mr. Schnapp who initiated the entire altercation and there was no aggressor by either player. There will be no further discipline for Mr. Weiber
