Prowlers Sweep Dashers with 7-4 Victory

Port Huron, MI - The playoff hopes of the Danville Dashers became a little more dashed on Saturday night when they dropped their weekend series against the Port Huron Prowlers, 7-4.

Both teams were back and forth on the scoreboard in the first period, but the Prowlers edged out a one goal lead going into the first intermission. Tom Kilgore found the back of the net twice, with Zach Zulkanycz adding a tally. Fred Hein and Justin Brausen found mesh to keep the Dashers within one goal.

Eric Masters picked up his 2nd goal of the weekend to tie the game at 3 at 7:43 into the middle frame. Matyas Kasek put the Prowlers back on top at 14:39 and held the 4-3 lead going into the intermission.

Danville again tied the game with a Dustin Henning's goal at 7:22 into the third. However, the Prowlers would prevail with the go ahead goal from Artem Stupnikov, followed by an empty netter from Artur Drindrozhik, and Tom Kilgore completing his hat track would seal the deal late in the third period.

Port Huron extends their lead to 13 points ahead of Danville in the FHL standings.

The Prowlers will host the Carolina Thunderbirds on Sunday afternoon. Next weekend they will have a road trip to Elmira on Friday and Saturday, and Watertown on Sunday. Danville will have a three-game series next weekend with the Mentor Ice Breakers.
