Rob Wilson Named the 2025-26 Jim Hebermehl Memorial Award Recipient

The Federal Prospects Hockey League has announced Linesman Rob Wilson has been named the recipient of the 2025-26 Jim Hebermehl Memorial Award.

This award honors an on-ice official for exhibiting the best conduct and sportsmanship throughout the season.  It is in Honor of Jim Hebermehl, an off-ice official who displayed a level of sportsmanship, kindness, and compassion to all he encountered.  Jim passed away Friday January 4th, 2019.

Upon receiving the news, Wilson stated:
"First, I would like to thank Paul for the phone call and for the FPHL selecting me as the recipient of the Jim Hebermehl Memorial Award. It is an honor to work in this league alongside such a great group of officials, and I appreciate the trust and confidence placed in me to continue serving as an on-ice official. I'm looking forward to the 2026–27 season."

FPHL Director of Officiating Paul Jene praised Wilson's contributions, saying:
"Rob has been one of the best officials on the ice this year. He has a great personality and works extremely well with his fellow officials. Even more importantly, the players and coaches have tremendous respect for him.  Rob is the type of official you wish you could work with every weekend. It's great to have people who genuinely love what they do, and it shows in their attitude and work ethic. This honor is very well deserved."

This was Wilson's first season in the FPHL, during which he split his time between the FPHL and the USHL.

The FPHL congratulates Rob Wilson on his outstanding work ethic and performance on the ice, while also recognizing the dedication and hard work of the league's entire officiating staff throughout the season.

The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional Hockey League and will enter its 17th season in the fall of 2026.
