THE FIRST MATCHUPS: 2026-27 Home-Opening Opponents



Fans made their predictions all weekend. Now the answers are here – and Tuesday brings an entirely new conference and division map.

 

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. –  Since Friday’s Save the Date announcement, Federal Prospects Hockey League fans have taken to social media to predict who would be coming to town for each team’s 2026-27 home opener.

 

We have been following along – and the guesses have been entertaining.

 

Some fans had the matchups exactly right while others went in a completely different direction. And a few of today’s announcements may come as big surprises.

  • Oceanside at Fresno Falcons
  • Minnesota Northern Lights at Indiana Sentinels
  • Mid-South Monarchs at Monroe Moccasins

 

Saturday, October 10

  • Watertown Wolves at Binghamton Black Bears
  • Stockton Thunder at Oceanside

 

Friday, October 16

  • Monroe Moccasins at Baton Rouge
  • Columbus River Dragons at Blue Ridge Bobcats

Fans are encouraged to follow the official social channels of their favorite teams throughout the day. Clubs will be sharing local information surrounding their home openers and opening weekends, including ticket information, game times when approved, promotional plans and additional team announcements.

 

Next Up: A New Map for a Growing League

 

The matchups are official – but the next major question remains:

 

Where does your team fit?

 

On Tuesday, July 21, the FPHL will unveil a new competitive structure for the 2026-27 season featuring two conferences and four divisions.

 

The move represents a major change from the league’s previous two-division format and will create new division races, new conference storylines and new rivalries across the league’s expanded 17-team footprint.

 

Which teams will become division rivals? Which familiar opponents will remain together? Where will your team land?

 

The complete conference and division alignment will be revealed Tuesday at 12:00 PM Eastern Time through federalhockey.com, @TheFPHL and the official channels of all 17 FPHL teams.
