Thunderbirds Acquire Baker from Prowlers

Winston-Salem, NC - The Carolina Thunderbirds are happy to announce a trade with the Port Huron Prowlers to acquire defenseman Mike Baker for forward Artur Drindrozhik and the rights to forward Tom Kilgore.

Baker is from Durand, WI and has appeared in all 26 games for Port Huron this season. So far, he has registered 11 points (1G-10A) and racked up 71 penalty minutes. In total, Baker has 134 games of FHL experience and has 54 points, a +25 rating, and 234 penalty minutes in that time frame. He started his professional career with the now-defunct St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints in 2016-17 before joining the Port Huron Prowlers during the same year. Prior to the FHL, he played three years of college hockey at Oakland University and two years of junior hockey.

Heading to Port Huron from Carolina is Artur Drindrozhik and the rights to Tom Kilgore. Drindrozhik has appeared in nine games this season for Carolina, registering two goals and two assists. Tom Kilgore has not played this season but tallied 46 points (19G-27A) in 54 games with the Thunderbirds last year. His rights were retained by Carolina on the reserve/retired list this season.

Baker is expected to report to Carolina later this week and could be in action as soon as Friday night against the Danville Dashers.
