THUNDERBIRDS ACQUIRE POWER FORWARD BAZARIN FROM DELAWARE

WINSTON-SALEM, NC-

The Carolina Thunderbirds today acquired Forward Matthew Bazarin from the Delaware Thunder in exchange for Defenseman Cody Oakes.

"Adding Mathew to our already talented forward group is going to help our physical and size presence for sure," said head coach Garrett Rutledge.

Bazarin's imposing 6'5" 209lb frame will certainly add an extra punch up front for the Thunderbirds.

"I have been watching him play for a few years back in Canada," Rutledge continued. "He is going to be another player that will excite the Annex when he takes to the ice."

Bazarin boasts an impressive junior hockey resume. He notched 67 points (including playoffs) with the Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL. He also racked up 31 points last year with the Northumberland Stars of the GMHL.

In his first season this year in the FPHL, Bazarin has 6 points in 14 games between the Elmira Mammoth and Delaware Thunder.
