Thunderbirds Sign Nolan

Winston-Salem, NC - The Carolina Thunderbirds are pleased to announce the signing of Brad Nolan ahead of this weekend's games in New York against Watertown and Elmira.

Nolan is a defenseman who just finished his college career playing at Lebanon Valley College in NCAA DIII. The 5'11", 181 lb native of St. Louis, MO was part of a class of students that saw the program move from ACHA to NCAA back in 2016-17. Nolan's production improved on a point per game basis despite the jump up in competition. His college stats across ACHA and NCAA play read 12 goals and 50 assists for 62 points in 91 games.

"With some of our injuries piling up we need to bring in a few guys to help fill some holes," said Head Coach Andre Niec. "I'm very excited to bring [Nolan] in this weekend and see what he can do for us; he was one of the best defensemen on his college team this season."

Carolina is in New York this weekend taking on the Watertown Wolves on Friday and Saturday and then heading to Elmira for a Sunday showdown with the Enforcers.

The Carolina Thunderbirds are proud members of the Federal Hockey League, now in its ninth season. The Thunderbirds are in their second season of play, looking to build on the success of their inaugural season where the team posted an 87-point season with a record of 25-24-5-2 (W-L-OTW-OTL). The Thunderbirds also set an FHL record with over 65,000 fans through the doors in their first season and six sellout crowds. Season and group tickets are on sale now by calling (336) 774-GOAL(4625).
