About Tim Wiggs:
Tim Wiggs has dedicated more than two decades to professional hockey as an off-ice official. His hockey journey began in 2001 with the Columbus Cottonmouths, where he became part of a proud tradition that has continued across several leagues, including the Central Hockey League, the ECHL, the SPHL, and now the Federal Prospects Hockey League with the Columbus River Dragons.
Hockey has become a true family passion for the Wiggs family. Tim's wife, Vivian, began working as an off-ice official in 1997, and today their son, Christian, continues the family's involvement in the game. Together, they have spent years supporting hockey behind the scenes while creating countless memories through the sport they love.
Away from the rink, Tim serves as Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for Aflac in Columbus. His professional career reflects the same dedication and commitment that he brings to the game of hockey.
In his free time, Tim enjoys traveling throughout the United States with his family, attending sporting events and experiencing the unique atmosphere of competition, teamwork, and community that has always been an important part of his life.
Through his years of service, professionalism, and passion for the sport, Tim has become a respected and valued member of the hockey community, embodying the dedication and commitment that define outstanding off-ice officials.
“Our off-ice officials are an essential part of our game-day operations, and being able to honor the countless hours they volunteer and the contributions they make to our league is truly special. They are all volunteers, and maintaining consistency across the league can be a challenge. We rely heavily on our off-ice supervisors to assist with training and development. Many of these individuals become deeply involved in the game, building relationships with officials, players, coaches, and team personnel so they can contribute in the best way possible. They are an essential lifeline in ensuring that games are run smoothly and accurately updated online during live play. When that chain breaks down, fans are left without reliable information. We are fortunate to have so many outstanding off-ice officials throughout the league, and this award could easily be presented to any number of deserving individuals.”
“Tim has been outstanding in his role and has earned the confidence and trust of our on-ice officials every game. He consistently goes the extra mile for our game crews and always brings a positive attitude while helping wherever he is needed. Myself and our entire officiating staff could not be more thankful for someone like Tim. He is a tremendous representative of all the hardworking off-ice officials throughout the league. We thank him for his time, service, and dedication to the FPHL and the game of hockey. Congratulations, Tim, on this well-deserved honor.”
