As the voice of the Port Huron Prowlers, Wiegelman has quickly established himself as a leader in a league filled with talented broadcasters.
Following in the footsteps of legendary hockey broadcaster Mike “Doc” Emrick, whose journey also passed through Port Huron, Wiegelman has embraced the legacy and responsibility that come with this prestigious role. Like Emrick, Wiegelman brings the game to life with passion, precision, creativity, honesty and of course, a true love for hockey.

Wiegelman’s impact extends far beyond the broadcast booth. He has spearheaded new on-ice and in-game presentation initiatives at McMorran Place that have elevated the overall fan experience, helping transform Prowlers games and broadcasts into a more dynamic and engaging experience. His leadership behind the scenes also is impressive, as he manages and mentors interns, helping shape the next generation of sports media professionals in Port Huron and Michigan.

While the job is intense, featuring lots of travel and long workdays, Wiegelman embraces and enjoys his hectic and busy lifestyle in service of the Prowlers and FPHL.
Wiegelman is a 2022 graduate of Hofstra University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in sports media and a minor in rhetoric. He was heavily involved in the school's radio and TV stations, and the newspaper while also playing for Hofstra's hockey team.Upon receiving this recognition, Wiegelman said that he is “truly honored to receive this award.”

“There are so many great broadcasters in this league and I'm lucky enough to be one of them. This is not an individual award, it's a team effort. Our owner, Ken Andrews, has given us the ability to push this beyond my wildest dreams. Aedan Bricker, Christian Jackson and the entire PHP Network crew have brought this all to life, continuously pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Thank you to the league office, the media teams who helped me out on the road and, of course, the fans who tuned in, whether they root for the Prowlers or not.”
