Wolves Get Revenge
By DJ Palm
Port Huron, MI - The Watertown Wolves redeemed themselves on Saturday night, earning the weekend split with a 9-6 victory over the Port Huron Prowlers, thanks to Chris Leveille's six-point game.
The Wolves were ahead, 3-2 after the first period. Lane King, Tyler Gjurich, and Sam Williams scored for Watertown, while Jonathon Juliano and Dalton Jay tallied for the Prowlers.
Watertown extended their lead to 5-3 after the second period. Kyle Powell scored and Gjurich netted his 2nd of the night, forcing the relief of Cory Simons, while Matt Robertson scored for Port Huron.
The Prowlers started the third period with a two man advantage that Jay cashed in on just 14 seconds in for his second of the night. However, any hope of a comeback was quickly deflated by an onslaught by the Wolves. For a team that struggled so hard the night before to score goals, they made up for it tonight. Leveille scored three times, with interruptions by Matt Graham and then Robertson getting his second of the night. Gjurich completed his hat trick with an empty netter to give the game its final score of 9-6.
Watertown kept their 3rd seed heading into a three-game weekend with the Elmira Enforcers. Port Huron stays at home for their own three-game series, kicking off Friday night against the Danville Dashers.
